I just read an excellent article in the latest National Catholic Register. Why We Need Kid's at Mass. I am going to ask my pastor to consider publishing it in our bulletin.
And, for a tear jerker, check out Priest Ordained Early to Fulfill Father's Wish. I still get choked up thinking about the extra-ordinary circumstances of that story.

I printed, a copy for our priest. I hope he publishes it, he loves the kids in mass, it's for the silver hairs, who make all the remarks.
I needed to read that. We actually have been going to a different church about 75% of the time since we have had kids because our church does not have a cry room. Our kids are loud and I don't want them to be the one distracting others from praying. That being said, I would never skip Mass because my kids are loud, but I don't object to cry rooms when needed.
I remember one Mass where I was trying to implement time outs for bad behavior in the vestibule of a church. Rosie was SCREAMING and everyone in the Church could hear. I was SO stressed and SO mad and my daughter. She was probably around 2. I remember wanting to leave and did not feel worthy to receive communion. A dear friend later told me that was the moment I was MOST in need of receiving the Eucharist. As well catechized Catholics, we still struggle and stress heavily with our children in Church. I loved this article. Thanks for commenting ladies.
