49 hours to go!

Pray us through!!  I am busy counting down the hours until the end of the 30 day appeal period following the April 11th confirmation of consent hearing (termination of parental rights).  I have been guessing and second guessing every communication with bio mom in the hopes that she will hold tight and continue to trust us with raising the son she birthed.  Please pray for her.  Please pray for Augie's dad.

After that...I am hoping that everyone working for us will be working at the speed we want them to go!  It is difficult when dates and time frames are in busy people's hands.  We are ready to make this thing official!

Wow! You are close! I remember when we were in that same situation. Our 30 day mark was on our then foster baby's 1st birthday.

A little about our story:

I'm sixteen and my family began the process of becoming foster parents in the beginning of 2009. We had our last home visit on April 3, 2009, and our first placement only three days later on April 6! It was a beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed, three day old baby girl. She was supposed to only be a short term placement. However, things changed (like they do often in foster care) and we ended up having her for over a year. The little girl who we had at one time been preparing to say goodbye to, became an official member of our family on June 2, 2010, the date of her adoption! She is now 2 years old, and brings so much joy and laughter into our home. We love her so much and are so thankful for her. It is prayer that you will get to experience the same joy by adopting your little one!

If you want to follow our story, my blog address is: http://as-for-me-and-myhouse.blogspot.com. If you visit the blog, be sure to check out "Alanna's Video," which is the video that was shown at her adoption. It has real video footage of the caseworker bringing her to our door at the beginning, and continues to show, through pictures, our over 1 year long foster parentnig journey with Alanna. It is set to music that was meaningful to us during our journey with Alanna, and continues to be meaningful to us now as we continue to foster.

Praying for you and looking forward to following along on your journey!
